My husband just brought home a 6 wk. old tea cup chihuahua. It was not taken care of. The little girl is very thin and has patches of fur missing on neck on side. You can actually see its ribs and back spine. It has been eating and drinking. However, if you try and touch its back to pick it up it will growl. Seems scared a lot and does not lick you unless you have something on your finger it likes. Mainly likes to curl up whether on your lap or in her little pen to sleep. Any suggestions? Some of us in the chihuahua community are afraid the movie will lead to a rash of chihuahua breeding and buying, resulting in unwanted chihuahuas in shelters down the road when people realize that pet ownership is more work than they bargained for. On the other hand, it’s hard to resist a movie filled with cute chihuahuas and the movie does raise the profile of the breed.

Hi Cindy. I am new to this site and I thought since you have been a chihuahua owner for 10 years that you may be able to help me with a question I have. I just became the owner of a 14 week old Chihuahua that weighs approx. 3 lbs..and is VERY cute and sweet..he has became my baby. LoL. But I have noticed some dry skin and some white flakes in his hair. I think this is dandruff and really I don’t know what to do for him. I feed him only Science Diet (Dry Food) which doesnt have a lot of oil in it? Could that be a problem? I havent bathed him once since I have had him, all I’ve done is dampened a cloth and then dried him and brushed his hair afterwards. I brushed his hair thinking the flakes would get better but they showed up more. What could I do? Any help and or comments would be greatly appreciated. I just got a chihuahua and I have no history on this dog. my concern is that she is a picky eater and am not sure what to feed her with. The past family was giving her table food because they could not afford dog food. I brought her Alpo dog food and she is not eating it. I gave her some homemade chicken and she just barely eats a little. She is sniffing around the house so I feel she is hungry. This moring I gave her some brown rice, she just ate a few grains. My dog was a gift from a friend. She is 16 months old and to my knowledge never been trained to obey. She is a precious 6# 6oz bundle of joy.I am trying to train her to pee and poop outside. She does some time but goes in the house sometimes.I would appreciate some good information as what is the best method to use with her.She has a mind of her own but minds some too.I really love her. I love my dogs to death, but if I could get my Dottie to stop waking up in the middle of the night and walking all over my head to get to the water on my nightstand, I would wake up a much more rested, saner person. Does your chihuahua have a bad habit that you wish you could break?
Disney can certainly do better than this. I don’t think this trailer is going to get the general public to the box office, but I’m sure chihuahua fanatics like us and parents with small children will flock to see it no matter what. The song is kinda catchy…
